The Short Sale Gal Kristine Zelazo has earned some new designations, including the Military Relocation Specialist (MRS) designation and the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS), which means she is well-positioned to provide clients and members of The Bird Dog Program with guidance and advice for overseas real estate investment opportunities.
In order to earn the CIPS designation, Kristine had to complete an intensive five-day course, which concluded with an exam that explored a wide variety of different issues, including currency and exchange rate-related issues, cross-cultural transactions and interactions, regional market conditions, how to evaluate investment performance and tax-related issues.
Why is a CIPS Real Estate Designation Important?
As a Certified International Property Specialist, Kristine is now well-equipped to handle international real estate sales, which tend to be far more complex and involved than domestic deals. There are issues related to currency, financing, visa and travel, along with country-specific tax laws which may come into play.
Additionally, a CIPS designee like Kristine Zelazo is trained to handle international sales in a manner that minimizes risk, while accelerating the timeframe for what could otherwise be a very lengthy transaction.
Notably, the Certified International Property Specialist designation is the only international real estate designation that is recognized by the National Association of Realtors (NAR).
Additionally, Kristine also recently received her Military Relocation Specialist (MRS) designation, which means she is now better positioned to help meet the unique needs of current and former members of the military as they seek to buy, sell or invest in real estate.
According to the National Association of Realtors, “The goal of Military Relocation Professional Certification is to educate real estate professionals about working with current and former military service members to find the housing solutions that best suit their needs as sellers or buyers and take full advantage of military benefits and support. Students will learn how to provide the real estate services at any stage in the service member’s military career that meet the needs of this niche market and win future referrals.”
Kristine Zelazo has a broad range of designations and certifications. Her designations include CDPE, SFR, CNE, ePRO, CAM and she is REO Certified.
